Ma Ki Dal (Whole Block Gram)

Ingredients :-

Whole black gram washed

kidney beans soaked in water for hour and drained

Tomatoes blanched and chopped

2 medium (200 gms.)

Ginger cut into thin strips

4 ½ teaspoons

Red chilli powder

½  teaspoons

Ghee

1 teaspoons

Tempering Ghee

2 teaspoons

Onion chopped

1 small(50 gms.)

5 gms.

½ teaspoons

Directions-

  1. Pour water into cooker. Bring to boil on high heat. Add black gram and all other ingredients except those for tempering. Stir onec.
  2. Chose cooker. Bring to full pressure on high heat. Reduce heat and cook for 50 minutes.
  3. Remove cooker from heat. Allow to cool naturally.
  4. Open cooker. Partially mash dal with back of a ladle.
  5. Place cooker with dal on low heat. Simmer to obtain a creamy consistency (approximately 7 minutes), stirring occasionally.
